Rev. H. Jocelyn Irving is a dedicated woman of God with compassion, love, and grace. She is a woman of strength in the face of adversity. She is an exquisite woman of God with much wisdom and knowledge. Rev. Irving is a powerful reflection of Proverbs 31:10-31, and a true example of a “Woman of Noble Character”.

Rev. Irving is the fourth of eight children born to Vian and Ceceilyn Miller in Paterson, New Jersey.  She is a graduate of William Paterson University and Drew University, cum laude.  She is the proud mother of four children, Vian, Farrah, Herman and Christopher.  Rev. Irving also served as a surrogate parent and mentor to many children during her twenty-eight-year tenure as an educator in the Paterson Public School System.  After graduating from Drew, Rev. Irving was ordained and served as the Associate Rector and Interim Rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Montclair, New Jersey.

Rev. Irving served as the Rector of the Episcopal Church of the Atonement in Washington, DC until June 2018.  She has since repositioned to the new call that God has placed on her life. Rev. Irving dedicates her life to living as an example of Christ’s love for all people.  She has the ability to reach others with her humor, warmth, transparency and strength. Rev. Irving is a mother, friend, teacher, role model, leader and mentor.  

She has now assumed a new title as Author and along with her coauthor has just published the book, “Footprints Of Love Through Our Trials Of Life.”
