Jason Gibson

Jason Gibson


EQUIPPED with a background in instruction, leadership,
mentorship, and customer service, Jason Gibson is a native of
Jackson, MS. Jason graduated from Callaway High school and
went on to accept a full basketball scholarship from Holmes
community college. He sought and obtained his Associate of
Arts in Social Sciences. Jason furthered his education at Jackson
state University by receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Social
Sciences.

Jason sought and obtained his M.A in History at Jackson State
University. His research interests include the evolution of the
Civil Rights Movement as a theory and practice. He has guest
lectured in African American Literature courses at The
University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Jackson State University,
Tougaloo College and Millsaps College on the Civil Rights era.

Jason opened a private fitness facility, Xplicit J3 Fitness, in April
of 2017. XJ3 made its mark as one of the fastest growing
private fitness facilities in the State of Mississippi. The gym was
recently selected as “Best Fitness Gym” on the Best of Jackson
ballot, and recently moved into a larger location. Jason made
the difficult decision in November 2022 to sell his portion of the
gym to devote himself fully to academia.

Jason is currently seeking a doctoral degree in Higher Ed
Administration at the University of Southern Mississippi. He
also served as a student success coach and adjunct Professor of
History at the Historic Tougaloo College. Jason is now the
interim chair for the department, and a full-time professor.

Mr. Gibson realizes the importance of spiritual progression and
business endeavors; therefore, he ensures that he studies
diligently within both sectors. Mr. Gibson honed his business
and creative abilities in starting his own real estate company,
Jason Gibson Enterprises. Jason is currently preparing to
release his first book in 2023, entitled, Pray Plan Execute, When
Believers Boss Up.
