Dr. Mfon Nwabuoku

Dr. Mfon Nwabuoku


Dr. Mfon Nwabuoku is an experienced professional with a strong reputation for transformational
leadership, strategic thinking and problem solving, effective collaboration with stakeholders and
driving operational improvement. She holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and a M.Ed. in
Guidance and Counselling. Dr. Nwabuoku is the Associate Director for Residence Life and Student
Conduct at Grinnell College and in her current role she helps facilitate the creation of an on-campus
experience that focuses on the holistic success of every student while upholding values that include
equity, diversity, and inclusion. In her pursuit of student success, Dr. Nwabuoku has become a
strong advocate for incorporating restorative/transformative justice practices into her school’s
conduct processes as well as community building strategies.  This has led to significant
improvements in resolved student conduct issues and improved resident engagement. Dr.
Nwabuoku also teaches the First Year Experience course and is actively involved in creating the
college’s residential curriculum to support a better residential experience for all students and help
first year students better adjust to college life. Her published work includes a book and a couple of
academic articles.
